I’ve been practicing as a psychotherapist, pastoral counselor, and couple’s therapist for over 20 years. I’m also an ordained minister. I pursued a Ph.D. in the psychology of religion because of my interest in the healing possibilities of both psychology and spirituality. I’m fascinated by the ways in which these two systems for understanding health and brokenness can be both at odds, and in such agreement. I believe that my training in both of these areas helps me understand the religious and spiritual elements of my clients’ stories in a more complete way than many other counselors.
My website can be found at Practical Spirituality. You’ll be able find out more about how I think and practice by perusing my site. From there you’ll also be able to access more information about my counseling practice, or shoot me an email.
I’ll welcome the opportunity to discuss your counseling needs. There’s still a fair amount of mystery regarding why counseling works when it does, but there are some things that are agreed upon. Clients who are happy with the results of counseling almost always say they felt very comfortable with the therapist, and that therapist just seemed to “get it.” I’m not going to be the right fit for everyone, but I’ll be glad to help you sort through your options.
